Communications Manager

The Cooperative Research Centre for Contamination Assessment and Remediation of the Environment (CRC CARE) is a multi-partner Australian research organisation developing innovative technologies to assess, prevent and remediate the contamination of soil, water and air.

World-class researchers at CRC CARE work with industry on a wide range of contamination problems, engaging with major end users such as the petroleum and mining industries, environmental regulators, the Australian Department of Defence, small-to-medium-sized companies, and consultants. The CRC is structured into the business areas of research, technology demonstration, commercialisation, education and delivery.

CRC CARE is seeking a Communications Manager to be based at its Mawson Lakes HQ in Adelaide. This is a senior position and as such is responsible for developing and delivering a creative and multi-faceted communication and branding strategy and associated budget.

The Role
The Communications Manager will be responsible for managing a small team working on internal and external communications. Tasks will include supervising and/or maintaining a substantial publications program and an internal and external website, media liaison, preparing articles and media releases, exhibition and event design and coordination, support for the organisation of scientific conferences, training workshops and seminars, and providing general communications and presentational support to CRC staff, managers and Board members.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified applicants with tertiary qualifications in communications or marketing and 5 + years work experience in the private and/or public sector. Familiarity with the environmental and/or chemical sciences would be a distinct advantage.
