CRC CARE carefully monitors the IP
commercialisation activities of its projects and programs to ensure
that the CRC’s objectives are met and that the national
benefit of its commercialisation activities are maximised.
CRC CARE maintain a
central register of Intellectual Property generated and
commercialisation outcomes achieved to enable regular reporting and
review of the outcomes.
CRC CARE protects and
exploits the intellectual property generated by the organisation
and its partners by:

Early identification of
background and foreground IP

Applying the appropriate
protection strategy including Patents, Trademarks, Copyrights, and
Design protection

Strict enforcement of
confidentiality by project participants and centre partners

Maintaining IP
registers

Appropriate IP licensing
and/or assignment arrangements
CRC CARE’s IP
Management processes include:

The identification of
potential IP at the project proposal stage and then ongoing
monitoring as the project proceeds in conjunction with the Program
Leader and the General Manager.

Providing IP support to
all researchers and students through the services of the General Manager and external
advisors

Running educational
seminars during induction and advanced workshops on IP for students
and researchers

Involving researchers,
business and legal staff in all IP negotiations

Maintaining a formal IP
register and having this regularly reviewed by the
Commercialisation Committee
