Exposure pathway assessment

This research seeks to overcome the high uncertainty over toxic exposure pathways which are of particular concern in Australia. It is developing:

  • Models that quantify the flux of volatile contaminants taking into account factors specific to Australia
  • Models that quantify the bioavailability and uptake of contaminants in garden produce from gardens in Australian cities
  • Models that describe the fate of contaminant sources, and
  • Techniques and predictive models for rapidly determining contaminant exposure levels in complex urban environments.
