This subprogram will devise ways to turn former wastes into
safe, manufactured soils and includes:
- laboratory and pilot scale testing of manufactured soil as an
alternative source of nutrients to aid revegetation of severely
contaminated sites
- coupled immobilisation and bioremediation techniques for
bioavailability reduction of contaminants present in wastes,
and
- commerical application of manufactured soils.
