Optimal
monitoring network design for effective site characterization and
pollution control/remediation
Biography
Sreenivasalu
is from a rural South Indian agricultural family. He did his
schooling in Tangutur, his hometown in the southern state of Andhra
Pradesh, India. He has a Bachelors in Civil Engineering from
Pondicherry University and Masters in Hydraulics and Water

Project Details
The
work is aimed at developing a tool which would be able to assist
the contaminated site managers/ decision makers in arriving at the
network of monitoring wells in an optimal manner such that the
network of wells would be able to delienate the contaminated plume
and simultaneous identification of unknown pollutant sources. The
concept of simulation-optimization approach will be used in
developing the methodology. The tool/methodology will have a great
potential in assisting the effective hazardous site
characterization and formulation of cost effective remediation
goals.
