Project Details
Biomass Micron Fuel (BMF) is a kind of micron-size solid fuel which
is capable of generating high temperatures of up to 1400 degrees
Celsius during combustion. By converting BMF to heat which can be
used to generate electricity, power costs can be reduced
significantly. One major step of pre-treatment for biomass before
preparing BMF is to dip the biomass in solution to remove potassium
(K) and chlorine (CI) to prevent both elements from eroding the
equipment. After drying the biomass under the sun, calcium
hydroxide are added to de water further.
The
study will focus on:
1.
Optimisation of the water ratio of the biomass powder after de
watering by the sun and the calcium hydroxide for the
gasification;
2.
Characterisation of the catalyst for BMF gasification including
composition, surface structure, theory of catalysing and the
process of catalysing;
3.
Study the temperature controllability of the gasification
reaction;
4.
Research the influence factors of gasification for
hydrogen;
5.
Analyse the ingredient and its content in the gas.
