Register for the National Remediation Framework launch webinar (Zoom).

The National Remediation Framework (NRF) was developed by CRC CARE in collaboration with stakeholders to enable a nationally consistent approach to the remediation and management of contaminated sites. In October 2019, the NRF was endorsed as best practice by all environmental regulatory jurisdictions through the Heads of EPA Australia and New Zealand (HEPA) forum. A dedicated, easy-to-navigate NRF website will offer advice on using the Framework and allow users to download all NRF guidelines free of charge. The website will include an NRF 'toolkit', which will contain additional, relevant CRC CARE Technical Reports. Check back here soon for the NRF web address.

While the NRF has acceptance among regulators in Australia, it does not share the same legislative status as the National Environment Protection (Assessment of Site Contamination) Measure (NEPM). This makes the NRF a flexible framework that can be easily updated. Together, the NRF and NEPM provide comprehensive guidance for the assessment of site contamination and for the remediation and management of sites that are deemed to be contaminated.

This free online launch event includes an overview of the NRF and its practical implications. Presenters will offer insights from the perspective of contaminated site practitioners and owners, and participants will have the opportunity to ask questions during a Q&A panel session.
